So - to answer - you just be. We live and resist and go on claiming our right to dignity. How any individual does that is their choice. That they have the capacity to make that choice, is their power. Once they accept that they did have a choice and they made it - that is a point at which they become free. No?
It's very much like the racist divides that existed (ok still exist, but much progress has been made eh?) in the past. There was a time when non-whites were seen as animals - something less than human.
It wasn't really until the likes of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Ghandi that the argument was rephrased, that rules for passive resistance were established.
So - it will happen in time. Some may think that is a sign of societal decay, but then the same thoughts were expressed by anti-anti-abolitionists eh?
